Create a Report to View Email Bounces for Contacts, Leads, and Person Accounts


Description

If you have activated the Bounce Management feature to track email delivery to your Contacts, Leads, or Person Accounts, you can use the Bounced Contacts and Bounced Leads standard reports to view a list of email addresses that have bounced email.

These reports include the reason the email was bounced, the date the bounce occurred, and the Contact, Lead, or Person Account that bounced the email.Resolution

Use the standard Bounced Contacts or Bounced Leads report (Salesforce Classic only)

1. Click the Reports tab.2. Access the standard Bounced reports: 

  • Bounced Contacts – Under the folder ‘Account and Contact Report’ click on ‘Bounced Person Accounts and Contacts’
  • Bounced Leads – Under the folder ‘Lead Reports ,’ click ‘Bounced Leads


These reports will only return the records (Contacts, Person Account, or Leads) where the sent email was bounced. 

Resolution

Create a Custom Report (Lightning Experience or if the standard Bounced reports are not available)

If the Standard Bounce reports are not available in your organization or if you are using Lightning Experience (these report types are not yet available in Lightning), you can create Custom Reports using the fields ‘Email Bounced Reason ‘ and ‘Email Bounced Date‘ which are already available in the standard Contact and Lead Report Types.


If you’re using the Lightning Experience Report Builder follow these steps to get the report:
 1. Go to the Reports tab.
2. Click New Report.
3. Select ‘ Accounts & Contacts‘.
4. Select ‘Contacts & Accounts‘ from the report type list, then click Continue.
5. Under ‘Contact: Ph/Fax/Email’, look for the ‘Bounced’ fields.
6. Add Email Bounced Reason and Email Bounced Date in the Report Preview.
7. Add a filter ‘Email Bounced Reason Not Equal to NULL‘, then click Run Report.

If you’re using the Classic Experience Report Builder, follow these steps: 

 1. Go to the Reports Tab.
2. Click New Report.
3. Under ‘Accounts & Contacts,’ select the Contacts & Accounts report type, then Click Next.
4. Select the type of report (Tabular, Summary, Matrix), then click Next.
5. Select the fields Email Bounced Reason and Email Bounced Datealong with other fields you want to show in the report, then click Next.
6. Select the Summary information and type as per your requirement, then click Next.
7.Re-order your list of Selected Columns (if required), then click Next.
8. Under ‘Field Filters,’ select ‘Email Bounced Reason Not Equal to NULL‘, then click Run Report.
